Crypto provides new techniques for creators, such as wellness professionals, to directly capture the value they create.
Companies like Bitclout and Rally allow super fans the ability to invest in their favorite creators. By way of crypto tokens (social tokens), this investment allows the investor to share in the financial upside of their favorite creators. This token investment may also gain the investor/customer/fan special access to exclusive content, in-person events, or other rewards. We are seeing the same model as direct-to-consumer e-commerce sales applied to creators where they are selling directly to their audience with no middleman.
Aside from creators being able to earn more income from their tokens, their fans and partners, such as Maverick Community, will have a chance to monetize the value that they are contributing to the creator. This is what Erik Torenberg calls the Ownership Economy. The more money that the creators make, the more money their fans can make.
The blockchain and crypto enable these creatives opportunities for creators and fans to make more money, and this is just the beginning. I’m not sure exactly how this will actually work for our creators and for Maverick but we will figure it out.
